Civil society groups are planning a noisy participation to coincide with official activities commemorating the 45th anniversary of Republic Day, which falls this Friday.
“The best way to celebrate Republic Day is to defend the Republic from the web of criminality that has taken hold of our country’s institutions,” the groups said.
“We therefore urge all Maltese and Gozitans of good will to join us in Valletta on Friday 13 December at 9.15 a.m. The public is invited to bring posters and whistles to deliver its message clearly.”
Official activities will be held in Valletta at the same time.
The civil society groups have been holding protest demonstrations on a regular basis in the past three weeks in the wake of developments linked with the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
