The police have arrested three men after they found 9 kilos of cannabis, a statement read.

The arrests were made last night and the three men are of Indian origin.

They were stopped by police in separate cars and a police search of their vehicles found 9 kilos of cannabis.

The men are aged 30, 33 and 35 and are all Sliema residents. They were stopped by police at 6.30pm in Bormla.

While searching the 35-year-olds car, eight bags containing nine kilos of cannabis were found.

The 35-year-old is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, and a magisterial inquiry was launched.
