The police have identified the man who was involved in a hit-and-run accident on 11 January.

The man was arrested after the vehicle involved in the accident was identified, the police said.

The accident took place on Saturday afternoon in Mdina Road, Qormi, when a 69-year-old man from Qormi was hit by a car.

The vehicle, a Toyota Spacio, was found near Ghar Lapsi, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old man.

The police said damage compatible with the accident were found on the car.

The driver is expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
