Labour MP Chris Cardona this morning asked the Speaker of the House of Representatives to give a ruling on a speech given by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi in December.

Cardona said that last month, while the House was in recess, Azzopardi had publicly described Cardona as “corrupt”.

Cardona said that such word had also been used by Azzopardi in the House but, although he had been asked to withdraw it, Azzopardi had failed to do so. Now he was repeating the same thing in public, Cardona claimed.

In reply, Azzopardi challenged Cardona to “sue” him.
