An explosion at a St George’s Bay outlet in St Julian's this morning luckily left no one injured, the police said.
The explosion took place just after 6am.
A spokesman for the police said that it is likely that the explosion was caused by gas.
Fire engines rushed to the site and the situation was brought under control quickly, the police said.
People who live in the vicinity said that they heard a loud "boom" coming from across the bay and then saw a fire.
