Liquigas has requested a copy of the findings of a magisterial inquiry into the explosion of a gas cylinder earlier this month. The company said that, should the magistrate accede to this request, it will inform the public of the outcome of the enquiry.

The case took place on 9 January outside a residence in Attard. The company said it has investigated as to what the possible cause of the incident could be and has collaborated with the magisterial enquiry and court appointed experts.

Liquigas said that, “as part of its long-established safety and quality control procedures, each individual Liquigas cylinder is inspected prior to being filled, and is then tested again before being distributed. Moreover, each cylinder, which is individually numbered, is rigorously tested and re-certified periodically. The cylinder filling and cylinder testing activities follow strict international regulations and are superintended by the relevant authorities.  Liquigas also urges the consumers to follow the safety rules and the correct use of cylinders.”
