PN MEPs refused to meet PM Abela together with their Labour counterparts – PL

PN MEPs David Casa and Roberta Metsola refused to meet Prime Minister Robert Abela together with their PL counterparts, the PL said Tuesday.

Abela, who is on his first visit abroad, met with the PL and PN MEPs separately in Brussels.

The Labour Party said the PM had asked to meet all Maltese MEPs together.

It said that, while the PM was working tirelessly to send out the message that Malta is working to strengthen the rule of law and good governance, the PN MEPs politicized the meeting through comments they made.

They also turned down the PM’s request for a single meeting with all MEPs.

The PL urged the PN MEPs to remove their “political blinkers” at a time when hard decisions were being taken. Casa and Metsola had brought partisan interests before the national interest, the PL said.
