The two, aged 53 and 46 and both from Luqa, are employees at the clinic, the police said.

The fire was reported at around 9.30pm in Triq il-Gdida.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called in to put out the blaze. The two persons, who were inside the clinic at the time, were unhurt but were treated for smoke inhalation.
