The Armed Forces of Malta rescued two groups of migrants over the past hours. Those who were brought to Malta are women, of whom are pregnant, and children.
There were already some 170 migrants being kept on chartered private vessels. NGOs have called for the immediate disembarkation of these migrants, who went on hunger strike earlier this week.
