A cyclist was seriously injured this morning after he was involved in a collision with a car in Tarxien, the police said.

The accident happened in Tarxien Road at 8.15am.

The cyclist, aged 35 from Tarxien, was involved in a collision with a Skoda Felicia driven by a 71-year-old woman, also of Tarxien.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
