19% of COVID-19 patients were kept at Mater Dei Hospital for more than one day, with 11 needing ITU treatment and four requiring ventilator assistance, Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne said.
He as replying to a parliamentary question by PD MP Godfrey Farrugia.
There are currently 120 active Covid-19 cases. 485 people recovered and six people have died.
From the six patients who died, COVID-19 was the main cause of death for five patients. For one patient, the virus was only a contributory cause, as the main cause of death was intestinal-related, Fearne said.
He explained that no further details can be given as this may lead to identification of the individuals.
Fearne said that 25% who tested positive for Covid-19 had no symptoms whatsoever; 13% if you reduce the residents of Hal Far village. 55% of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 said they had received the flu vaccine in last eight months. "On average, it takes 16 days, from the date a person tests positive until they recover," Fearne explained.
The Department of Health has followed the criteria case definitions of positive cases of Covid-19, following the guidelines continuously published by WHO, as well as by ECDC.
The Health Ministry has also followed any changes in definition as guided by these authorities, he said.
