Dar tal-Providenza is appealing to the public for financial support after it had to cancel fundraising activities due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

A marathon which will run until the beginning of next year, called Sabih li Taghti, has been launched in order to raise funds for Dar tal-Providenza.

One of the residence’s main fundraising events, the annual volleyball marathon, was due to take place next weekend but had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

In addition, during this challenging and difficult time, the Director of Dar tal-Providenza Fr Martin Micallef has had to stop his work as he will be receiving cancer treatment for cancer.

Dar tal-Providenza Jesmond Saliba said that, “the home needs around €5 million in order to keep going and give the best care to its residents. Costs in recent months have increased by around € 60,000 due to the various measures taken to safeguard and protect the residents and workers from COVID-19.”

Anyone who would wish to donate and support this institution can do so through www.sabihlitaghti.org
