Three people were arrested in two separate operations in connection with alleged drug trafficking.
The arrests were made in Birzebbuga and Bugibba.
In the first operation, the police followed a vehicle that was being driven in Birzebbuga.
The police said that at around 4pm on Wednesday, the police stopped the vehicle driven by a 24-year old man, from Zabbar.
The man was arrested, and a search was carried out in the vehicle, with the Police finding a considerable amount of suspicious substance, allegedly cocaine, cannabis grass and resin, as well as a large amount of cash.
The man was taken to Police Headquarters for further investigations.
In the second operation, the police said that around 6pm, during an observation on a group of people in Bugibba, members from the anti-drug squad arrested two people - a 33-year old man from Bahar ic-Caghaq and a 32 year old Serbian woman who were suspected of drug trafficking drugs.
After they were searched, several types of suspicious substances were found including ecstasy, LSD and other synthetic drugs. They were both taken to the Police Headquarters for further investigations.
An inquiry is being held and led by Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo.
Investigations are ongoing.
