A 48-year-old man from the Philippines was killed in a traffic accident in Paola on Tuesday afternoon.

The man was riding a motorcycle that was hit by a Land Rover. The accident took place in Triq l-Irvellijiet 1958 at around 4.15pm, the police said.

The Land Rover Discovery was being driven by a 37-year-old man from Paola. The casualty was riding a Honda bike.

An ambulance was called to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead on site.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras is leading an inquiry. The police are investigating.
