Man lands in court after motorcycle theft in Gozo

A 19 year old man landed in Gozo’s court after being arrested in connection with a robbery in Gozo.

The man, who is a resident of Santa Venera, was arrested in connection with a motorcycle theft in Kercem, Gozo.

The man was arrested after several days of investigations by the Anti-Violent Crime Squad within the Department of Major Crimes, together with the Gozo District Police.

The investigations began on 20 June 2020, after police were informed that a Honda motorcycle was stolen from Triq Qasam San Gorg, Kercem, Gozo.

After investigations conducted by the police, the young man was identified as the alleged thief and was arrested.

On Friday 31 July at around 11:30 am, the police took the man to court before the Magistrate Simone Grech, who charged him with theft.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him and was released on condition that he does not commit another offense within the three years.

The prosecution in this case was led by Inspectors Mario Xiberras and Bernard Charles Spiteri.
