49 new Coronavirus were registered in the last day, pushing the total to nearly 1,000 exactly five months after the first case was reported on 7 March.
It is the second highest number of cases in a single day, following the 52 reached on 7 April.
More details of the cases will be given by the Health Superintendent, Charmaine Gauci, at 1pm.
In all, the number of cases has now reached 995, with nine deaths.
Five patients have recovered from the virus, for a total of 675 recoveries, and leaving 315 active cases.
The number of swab tests carried out in the last day was 1,717, for a total of 138,430.
