The episcopal ordination of new Gozo Bishop Anton Teuma will take place on 13 September at 5.30pm, the Gozo Curia announced today.

It will take place on the parvis of the Ta’ Pinu church in Gozo, and will be transmitted on TVM2 and the Curia’s social media.

His first Mass as the bishop will then take place at the Gozo Cathedral on 16 September, which is the 156th anniversary of the setting up of the Gozo Curia.

A thanksgiving mass for the service offered by outgoing Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will be held on Thursday 27 August at 6.30pm at the Xewkija parish church.

There will also be a prayer service on Friday 11 September at 8pm at the Pope John Paul II institute chapel.

The Gozo Curia said that there is a possibility of changes to the programme, depending on the circumstances of the moment, a clear reference to the Covid-19 situation.

The Gozo Curia also published the bishop’s official emblem. His motto will be “U baqa’ miexi maghhom” (He continued to walk with them).
