72 new Coronavirus cases have been found in the last 24 hours along with 20 new recoveries from the virus, health authorities said on Saturday.

The number is once again a record-breaking one – far exceeding the previous single-day increase record of 55 cases from a few days ago.

Health authorities did not give any indication of whether the new cases form part of any particular clusters, however they said that preliminary investigations showed that some are contacts to previously known cases.

The cases are still being investigated and people who were in contact with positive cases will be personally contacted by public health authorities in the coming hours, they said.

With 20 new recoveries, the number of active cases has increased to 557 after decreasing for the first time in some weeks yesterday.

The new numbers mean that there have been 1,348 cases of Coronavirus since 7 March when the first case was found.  782 of those have recovered while 9 have died.
