Bank of Valletta’s Gzira branch will be back in service as of Saturday 22 August after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

“The BOV Gżira Branch was temporarily closed after one of its staff tested positive for COVID-19. All remaining staff are following Health Authorities’ instructions”, the Bank said in a statement.

“The Bank contracted an infection prevention control specialist to disinfect the Branch. The operation was completed and it has been ascertained that the Branch is safe to reopen. The Bank has made arrangements for staff members from other BOV units to service customers from this Branch”, the bank added.

The Health Authority will in the meantime be contacting those individuals who might have been exposed to the contagion as part of their contact tracing protocol, the statement continued.

Bank of Valletta said that it will continue to take all the necessary measures in the best interest and safety of customers and staff and once again encouraged customers to use its wide network of ATMs, BOV Internet Banking, BOV Mobile Banking, BOV Pay and BOV Debit and Credit Cards for their banking and payment needs.

Moreover, it reminded customers visiting bank’s premises to follow the necessary precautions such as safe social distancing, proper wearing of masks and sanitising.
