PN leadership hopeful Bernard Grech has launched an online crowd-funding campaign as he aims to raise money for his campaign.
The campaign, launched on Thursday at 11am, had already attracted some €4,000 in donations from 80 backers just over an hour after its launch.
In a video on the fundraising platform, Grech said that people “have a chance to use a legitimate digital platform to donate a small amount of money, with the option of remaining anonymous, so you can be free to help our campaign and make sure our message reaches everyone.”
Donors can donate between €1 and €250, and the campaign target is set at €50,000.
Whatever is left-over from the funds received once the campaign is over, Grech said, will be donated to the PN regardless of whether he emerges victorious from the election or not.
A spokesperson for Grech told this newsroom that once the campaign is over, a full audit of all the donations received will be carried out and published.
Grech will not be accepting any donations which are not through this crowd-funding platform.
