An 86-year-old woman has become the 16th person to die with Covid-19 in Malta after passing away on Monday morning.
The Ministry for Health said that the woman tested positive for Covid-19 on 30 August and was immediately admitted to hospital on that same day.
She was transferred to St. Thomas Hospital on 2 September, but was transferred back to Mater Dei on 5 September. She passed away at the Infectious Diseases Unit overnight.
The Health Ministry said that she suffered from other medical conditions.
The Ministry, while giving its condolences to the family of the elderly woman, appealed for all to keep following the appeals of the Health Department.
