Six people were fined a combined total of €12,000 for drunk driving in Gozo, police said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the police said that its Gozo Traffic section had done a number of inspections in order to catch those committing illegalities while driving.
On Wednesday, six people were fined a total of just under €12,000 in court in Gozo after being found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol.
One of them was also found guilty of driving without insurance cover, and had his license suspended for a year. The other five people had their licenses suspended for six months.
The court was presided over by Magistrate Joe Mifsud, and the prosecution was led by Inspector Josef Gauci from the Gozo district.
