The Nationalist Party this evening welcomed the court decree to freeze the assets of former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri, saying that Prime Minister Robert Abela must shoulder political responsibility.

In a statement signed by PN leader Adrian Delia, the PN said that Abela, Labour ministers and MPs defended Schembri.

The PN expects the country’s authorities not to waste more time and to see that all those who are responsible for “corruption carried out by Joseph Muscat and his colleagues” face justice.

In a separate statement, NGO Repubblika said the fight for justice will not stop today.

The NGO said that there were people who hindered the fight against corruption, and it hoped that it is not too late.

A court this evening has issued an order to freeze all assets held by former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri, his companies and his wife, and Brian Tonna, managing partner of Nexia BT, among others.
