A Scottish MP has written an open letter to the Maltese nation speaking of his country’s yearning for self-determination, taking Malta as an example that Scotland seeks to follow.
In his letter, published on The National, a newspaper that supports an independent Scotland, Douglas Chapman toasted Malta’s sovereignty and “your right to determine your own destiny as a nation in Europe”.
The letter, written on the occasion of Independence Day celebrated in Malta last Monday, Champan praises Malta’s change “From a colony to a nation once again, with a strong equal partnership in the European Union, there is much for Scotland to admire from a wistful distance.”
