Thursday, 24 September 2020, 07:42 Last update: about 5 years ago

Infrastructure Malta said that work on the Pembroke roundabout is to be completed this weekend while Central Link lanes will be opening today.

In separate posts on Facebook, IM said that on Friday and Saturday, 25 and 26 September, between 8.30am and 6pm, it will be completing the asphalt laying works of the new roundabout junction for increased road safety at the crossroads between Sant’ Andrija (St Andrew) Road and several streets in Pembroke and the High Ridge/Madliena area of Swieqi.  The southbound carriageway of Sant' Andrija Road will be closed and diverted to Martin Luther King Street.

This afternoon and tomorrow morning (24 & 25 September) IM will be opening new Central Link project lanes in Mriehel, Balzan and Attard. As these westbound lanes (Mriehel to Attard) are opened, IM will also modify some of the existing lanes in the same direction in Iz-Zaghfran Road and L-Imdina Road, so that they can be used in the opposite direction (Attard to Mriehel). Some of the traffic lights systems along the way will be removed.

IM urged drivers to proceed with caution, watch out for new roadside signs, line markings and reduced speed limits and follow directions of officers on site.
