The lives of many depend on timely decisions taken without political interference, the PN said in a statement, in reference to the current Covid-19 situation in the country.

The statement was signed by PN Leader Adrian Delia and the PN's spokesperson for health Stephen Spiteri

"The number of people infected each day is high when compared to our population, while unfortunately we are seeing large increases in the number of elderly people, the vulnerable and those being treated for other illnesses, getting the virus."

The PN said that more must be done to offer the best protection to the vulnerable and those in need, as that people's health must be the priority.

"While we need to choose the common good, it is also our duty to take care of those who are more at risk. So let us be responsible and observe the health directives issued by the authorities."

The statement read that the government is obliged to see what is in the best interest of the people, "as the lives of many depend on the decisions that are taken in a timely manner."
