Friday, 16 October 2020, 14:52 Last update: about 5 years ago

A silent vigil for assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia took place at Bidnija at 3pm today, marking three years since her murder.

Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered on 16 October 2017. She was killed by a car bomb when leaving her home.

Her murder triggered a political crisis which led to the resignation of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, his former chief of staff Keith Schembri and former Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi. Three people are currently in court charged with her murder - brothers George and Alfred Degiorgio and Vince Muscat - and businessman Yorgen Fenech has been charged with being a mastermind behind the assassination.
