142 new Covid-19 cases found, 52 recoveries

142 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, the health authorities said.

This brings the total number of active cases to 1,347. The total number of cases has now reached 4,628.

There were 52 recoveries, for a total of 3,236 since the pandemic started

2,404 swab tests were carried out between Saturday and Sunday, with the total number of tests since the start of the pandemic now reaching 297,765.

45 people have died so far. A record 204 cases were registered on Saturday.

The authorities said that, from Saturday’s cases, 46 were from family members of previously known cases, 18 cases had come into contact with positive work colleagues, 3 cases were from Paceville, 9 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases and 4 cases were from contacts at social gatherings with other positive cases.

Sunday’s cases are still being investigated.
