The number of active Covid-19 cases has reached a new high at 1,450 as only six patients recovered while 109 new cases were recorded.

The health authorities said that 2,561 swab tests were carried out, for a total of 300,326.

In all, there have been 4,737 Covid cases in Malta, with 45 deaths.

There were 3,242 patients who recovered, leading to a total of 1,450 active cases.

The cases registered today are still being investigated.

From the 142 registered on Sunday, 40 were family members of previously known cases, 17 were work colleagues of positive cases, seven were direct contact of positive cases, six were from social gatherings and two were imported.
