133 new cases of Covid-19 found overnight

133 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, the latest update by the health authorities stated on Tuesday.

107 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus.  This means that the current number of active cases stands at 2,082.

2,664 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 409,981.

Authorities gave details about the 80 cases reported on Monday: 16 of them were family members of previously known cases, 5 were contacts of positive work colleagues, 3 were direct contacts with other cases, and 1 was from a social gathering.

Malta has had 9,137 cases of Covid-19.  6,938 people have recovered, while 117 have died.
