Active cases dip below 2,000 after 103 new cases of Covid-19 found

The number of active cases has dipped below the 2,000 mark after 103 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight.

169 new recoveries were found, meaning that total number of active cases stands at 1,985.

3,010 swab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours, taking the total up to 442,487 tests so far.

Out of the 123 cases reported on Friday, authorities traced 18 to family members of previously known cases, 6 to contacts of positive work colleagues, 4 to direct contacts of positive cases, and 2 to social gatherings.

Malta has had 10,423 cases of Covid-19 so far.  8,289 of those have recovered, while 149 have died.
