Infrastructure Malta issued almost €27 million worth of direct orders over the past two years.
The information was tabled by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg in reply to a Parliamentary Question by PN MP David Thake.
The latter asked for a list of direct orders issued by IM for maintenance and infrastructure works. The list provided by Borg covers the period from 1 January 2019 to 15 December 2020.
Some of the costlier projects in the list include: the reconstruction of the Ta' Qali Phase 3 Project; additional works in conjunction with New Services and Other Ancillary Works at Triq Bormla, Zejtun-Zabbar; underwater and Quay Edge Repairs at Berth 1, Cirkewwa, and works on Jetty 3, St Thomas Bay.
All of these projects cost upwards of €1.4 million.
