A Finnish man was grievously injured after being involved in a traffic accident on Saturday morning, police said.

The police said that the incident occurred in Triq Ghar Dalam in Birzebugga between a KTM motorcycle being ridden by the 31-year-old from Finland, who lives in Mriehel, and a Volkswagen Golf.

The car was being driven by a 22-year-old from Hal-Ghaxaq.

The motorcycle rider was taken to Materi Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
