Watch: Health Chief Charmaine Gauci gets Covid-19 vaccine

Saturday, 23 January 2021, 11:31 Last update: about 4 years ago

Health chief Charmaine Gauci was vaccinated against Covid-19 this morning.

The government started a vaccination campaign on 27 December, with frontliners among the first to get the first and, later, the second dose.

It is understood that although she was entitled to be among the first to be vaccinated, given the nature of her work, Gauci chose to delay her vaccination so as not to appear to have taken advantage of her position.

Gauci will be receiving her second dose in three weeks' time.

The vaccination campaign is continuing with people over 85 years of age and others who are in hospital.
