The feast of St Paul has brought with it a sunny day, far different from the account of the Bible when the apostle was shipwrecked in Malta on his way to Rome.

But the lovely weather is set to make way for a cold spell over the coming days, as strong winds and rain reach the islands while the feel like temperature is expected to drop 14 degrees from today's 20 to next Monday's 6.

The Met Office is forecasting strong winds for Thursday, with the temperature going down from 20 today to 16 tomorrow.

Friday is set to be partly cloudly while rain is expected on Saturday, but it will be from Sunday that the drop in temperature will manifest itself.

The Met Office is forecasting a high of 16 on Saturday to be followed by a high of 11 on Sunday, with a feel like of 8, again with strong winds.

The temperature will go further down on Monday - with a high of 9 (feel like 6), and slightly up to 10 (feel like 7) on Tuesday.

The Met Office is also forecasting that the low temperatures will progressively plummet from today's 13 degrees to 6 on Sunday, 5 on Monday and 4 on Tuesday.

So don't put your coats and scarves away yet. Winter is not over.
