193 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Monday as one more person died while positive for the virus.

Authorities said that in the last 24 hours, a 96-year-old man passed away at Mater Dei Hospital. It means that Malta has now had 305 deaths related to the virus.

242 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 2,471.

2,782 swab tests were done on Sunday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 677,159 so far.

64,419 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 20,531 people having received both doses of the jab.

Malta has had 21,085 cases of the virus. 18,309 of them have recovered, while 305 have died.
