The family of slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia has issued a statement expressing hope that Vince Muscat's admission will begin leading to complete justice for Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Vince Muscat, known as Il-Kohhu, on Tuesday admitted to the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia

Lawyer Jason Azzopardi read out a short statement in court on behalf of the family.

"A person who admitted their involvement in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia denied her right to life and denied her right to enjoy her family and grandchildren who were born after she was killed."

"The mavabre killing of Daphne Caruana Galizia was intentional and should have been avoided. The victim paid for it with her life, and the family are paying for the loss of a loved one."

"I say all this because if Daphne's family were to respond today solely with all the emotions, it would be obvious as to what their reply would be."

"But in these circumstances, and since it has been informed by the Attorney General, the family expresses their hope that this development begins leading to complete justice for Daphne Caruana Galizia"
