175 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Monday as one more person died while positive for the virus.

Authorities said that an 89-year-old woman passed away during the last 24 hours at St. Thomas Hospital. 316 people have now died in Malta while positive for the virus.

216 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 2,678.

3,871 swab tests were carried out on Sunday, taking the total number of swab tests over the 700,000 mark and up to 702,110 so far.

Up till Sunday, 79,624 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 28,048 people receiving both doses of the vaccine so far.

Malta has had 22,657 cases of the virus so far.  19,663 of those have recovered, while 316 have died.
