Red Tower damage repaired after PN MP intervenes

A damaged wall at Mellieha’s Red Tower has been repaired after the intervention of PN MP Robert Cutajar on Saturday.

A wall on the staircase leading up to the tower, which is run by Din l-Art Helwa and which was recently extensively restored, was vandalized last week, with the damage being reported by a passer-by on Friday.

In a Facebook post, Cutajar said that he had spoken to three builders who had gone on site to rebuild the wall and repair it to what it was before it was vandalized.

“I am pleased to have done my part so that part of our national heritage can be enjoyed without any danger”, Cutajar said, before appealing for people to take care of historical buildings so that they can be enjoyed by future generations.
