55 new cases of Covid-19 and one new death were reported by health authorities on Thursday.
A 76-year-old man became Malta 401st victim – a year to the day since the first victim of the virus – after passing away at Mater Dei Hospital.
45 people meanwhile were declared as recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 554 active cases.
2,227 swab tests were administered on Wednesday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 826,461 so far.
227,606 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 63,114 people having now received both doses of the vaccine.
Malta has had 29,463 cases of the virus. 28,508 of those have recovered, while 401 of them have died.
