A man who lost part of his index finger in an accident near Malta had it reattached in a 19-hour operation in Turkey, Turkish media report.

The man was working on a vessel near Malta when his finger was severed.

He was evacuated to Mater Dei Hospital but later flown to Turkey, the Daily Sabah reports.
