A 38-year-old man is expected to be charged with drug trafficking after he was arrested in Marsa by police.

Police said in a statement that the man, who lives in Marsa, was arrested and caught with around 70 packets of drugs suspected to be cocaine and 8 packets of drugs suspected to be heroin.

Duty magistrate Victor Axiak is leading a magisterial inquiry while police investigations continue.

The man is expected to be charged in court on Wednesday morning before duty magistrate Doreen Clarke.
