The magisterial inquiry into Pilatus Bank does not fall under the remit of the State Advocate, the office said in a statement.

The office was referring to comments made by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi who lamented that no action had been taken against officials of the bank.

Azzopardi said that the inquiry had been passed on to the State Advocate in December.

“This is not correct since no inquiry was handed over to the State Advocate in December 2020 in so far as the matter does not fall within the remit of the Office of the State Advocate,” the office said.
