Prime Minister Robert Abela received the Covid-19 vaccine on Monday.

In a social media post, Abela urged “those who can, to get vaccinated so that we protect each other and continue looking ahead.”

He also thanked the worker and volunteers in vaccination centres for the “excellent service.”

The Prime Minister, 43, had chosen to wait his turn to take the jab. He had rejected a proposal by Speaker Anglu Farrugia for MPs to be given priority, saying that politicians should wait their turn like the rest of the population.

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech took the vaccine on Sunday.
