Nationalist MP Toni Bezzina will not be charged over corruption that allegedly took place in 2012.

The police have informed him that their investigation was completed and there is no case against him, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.

His lawyer said that Bezzina, the PN spokesman for transport, was no longer a person of interest.

He had been investigated by the Financial Crime Department on claims that Bezzina had used government workers for a job at the PN club in Zurrieq, which forms part of the district where the MP contests. Bezzina had been employed at the Public Works Department at the time.
