32-year-old arrested after police find over €100,000 worth of drugs

A 32-year-old man from Valletta was arrested by the police for suspected drug trafficking.

The man was arrested by the Drug Squad, assisted by the Rapid Intervention Unit.

After days of surveillance, the police on Tuesday stopped a vehicle on Triq Borg, Birkirkara, that was being driven by the man in question. The car was searched and 1.8kg of a white substance, suspected to be cocaine, was found, as was an amount of cash. The street value of the cocaine was just over €100,000

A magisterial inquiry was launched, led by Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras.
