Opposition Leader Bernard Grech has called on Prime Minister Robert Abela to demand Cutajar’s resignation as a Labour MP, and to kick her out of Labour’s parliamentary group if she refuses to do so.
In a Facebook post and PN statement, PN leader Grech said that “Robert Abela has again decided not to decide.”
Following the publication of the report by the Standards Commissioner George Hyzler into Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar over her ties to Yorgen Fenech, Grech said that the report speaks for itself.
“Rosianne Cutajar did not declare a brokerage fee and violated the code of ethics for Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.”
Grech reiterated his call from Sunday and said that “if Robert Abela really wants to put the national interest a priority, he should, without further delay, ask Rosianne Cutajar to resign.”
“For as long as she remains there, Robert Abela will continue to confirm that he wants to keep defending those who are harming our country’s reputation,” Grech said.
He also accused the prime minister of being a “continuation of his predecesor” Joseph Muscat.
“Our country needs to be led by serious and mature politicians, today before tomorrow,” Grech said.
