With temperatures reaching the high 30s Celsius on Saturday, many believed that we had reached the peak of this heat wave.

But it’s not to be.

The Met Office is forecasting a 40 degrees Sunday and Monday, with a feel like of 41.

And it will not be much better in the days that follow, as between Tuesday and Friday the highest temperature will be between 38 and 39, but still with a feel like of 40.

One will have to wait till Saturday for some respite – if you can call it that – when the highest is forecast to be 35 degrees (feel like 37).

Nights will not be cool at a low of 27 degrees.
