75 new Covid-19 cases reported

75 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Thursday, a similar number to what was reported on Wednesday in what can be construed as a slight spike compared to case numbers from the past weeks.

54 people have recovered from the virus, while no new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

The number of active cases therefore stands at 704.

A total of 34 Covid-19 positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with two people in ITU.

3,709 swab tests were administered on Wednesday, taking the total so far up to 1,198,067.

797,562 doses of the vaccine had been administered up till Wednesday, with 414,285 of those being a first dose. 

413,041 people are now fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 36,322 cases of the virus. 34,781 of those have recovered, while 441 have died.
