Three teenagers were hospitalised after they were involved in a traffic accident in Gozo in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at around 45 minutes past midnight on Tuesday in Triq ir-Rabat in Marsalforn.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 19-year-old from Xewkija had lost control of a Toyota Corsa and subsequently crashed into a container.

A 17-year-old girl from Iklin and a 16-year-old girl from San Gwann were passengers in the car with the man.

They were all given first aid by a medical team and taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.

The 17-year-old girl was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the other two are suffering from light injuries.

Police investigations are on-going.
